Nomi
Nomi was founded in Stockholm by food and design enthusiasts with a desire to rethink what kitchen tools can look and feel like. The idea emerged when one of the founders asked himself: “Why isn’t there a kitchen knife that’s as satisfying to look at as it is to use?” As he looked around his own kitchen, he realized that many tools were still shaped by outdated and unimaginative design; something Nomi set out to change.
This insight sparked a brand built on the belief that design can inspire creativity, joy and connection in and around the kitchen. For Nomi, cooking is more than a task; it is a creative outlet, a cultural ritual and a way of bringing people together. Whether it’s baking bread, slow-cooking a stew or making late-night meals for friends, sharing food turns ordinary moments into meaningful ones.
Nomi’s first product, the Nomi Santoku, was developed over the course of two years. Guided by Scandinavian design principles and inspired by the clarity of mid-century modernism, it embodies the brand’s philosophy of radical simplicity with a touch of surprise. The result is a knife that unites balance, sharpness and refined aesthetics crafted to spark the desire to cook.
Looking ahead, Nomi continues to explore new knives, new tools and new ways to make everyday cooking more beautiful, intuitive and inspiring. The brand remains committed to its core belief: kitchen tools should do more than perform well, they should evoke emotion, stimulate creativity and elevate the experience of being in the kitchen.
