Séfr
Séfr is a Swedish fashion brand founded by Per Fredriksson and Sinan Abi. The journey began in 2012 as a second-hand store in Malmö, where the duo curated carefully selected quality garments. Their experience within the vintage sphere shaped the brand’s aesthetic direction and eventually evolved into the full-scale fashion label Séfr in 2016. The name means “zero” in Lebanese Arabic, referencing Sinan Abi’s roots and symbolizing a creative new beginning.
Séfr’s philosophy is rooted in reimagining classic pieces in a new way. Each garment is shaped through subtle adjustments and a meticulous focus on detail, whether refining a collar or replacing buttons multiple times until the expression feels perfect. Their design process always starts with the materials rather than a sketch; the fabrics’ texture, feel, and quality guide the development of each collection. The brand follows intuition over trends and consistently seeks out distinctive materials chosen for their inherent character and integrity.
Inspiration often stems from vintage details and womenswear, which are reinterpreted into a modern, masculine silhouette. Séfr frequently goes against the grain when it comes to material choices, when a fabric supplier claims a certain textile is unsuitable for a specific style, they see it as an opportunity rather than a limitation. All production takes place in Europe, with fabrics sourced from renowned European mills, ensuring high quality and skilled craftsmanship.
Séfr’s design is characterized by tailored cuts, sophisticated color palettes, and luxurious textures that give the collections a timeless yet contemporary feel. The brand builds with longevity in mind; each new season connects seamlessly with previous ones, creating a wardrobe that is both enduring and stylistically coherent. In this way, Séfr has established itself as a significant name in modern menswear, appreciated for its discreet luxury and thoughtfully composed aesthetic.
